Fahrenheit 451 is a futuristic novel about a technologically advanced dystopian society, written by Ray Bradbury in 1953. Bradbury depicts a society that is completely content with the suppression of alternative knowledge and learning. The novel reveals that nobody has meaningful conversations, reads books, or explores nature. Instead they are filled with “noise” from televisions that are as large as house walls, radio broadcasts through “seashell” earbuds, or repetitive commercials on subways. Speed limits are so fast, billboards have been stretched out two-hundred feet long, in order to see the advertisement.…

The main purpose in a person's life in that world was to relax, not think, and be happy, with the use of electronics. While you may think it's a book about a world in the future that represent's censorship, it can be used as a warning of what could happen to our society if we rely on technology and the media. In Fahrenheit 451, the government orders the burning of all books and makes it completely illegal to read them. Renowned by many for his ability to write stylized works of literature, Ray Bradbury emerged in the middle of the 20th century as a skilled writer whose stories and themes have influenced American culture and the literary community. Although many critics have described Bradbury as a science fiction writer, he is better labeled as author of fantastic tales that display profound observations about human nature (2). In his most famous novel, Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury weaves together a fascinating and unnerving tale of the future of society. With Fahrenheit 451, and many of his other works, Bradbury urges the importance of the human imagination and the retention of moral values, all while warning of the dangers of the loss of individuality and censorship (3). Born on August 20, 1920, Bradbury grew up in Waukegan, Illinois, where he lived with his parents and was…

Ned has been called to King’s Landing, a southern city dominated by the house of Lannister and Baratheon to serve in a political position for his King and former ally in the Great Targaryen War, Robert Baratheon. Ned doesn’t want to go, as House Stark and Lannister are bitter rivals and leaving would mean splitting up the family.…
