The thought that pirates were most likely to raid their vessel, that had already been struck with starvation and dehydration. Quicker than lightening, the pirates where throwing harpoons on to the railings of their boat and were sliding across! Then one of the biggest meanest looking pirates yelled “you are surrounded put your arms up and don’t move!” the migrants looked at his long curved sword and threw their arms up faster than lightning, there they stayed as still as if they were made of stone. The pirates then started poking and prodding taking most of their food and fresh water and all the valuables that the migrants had.
Most of the pirates harpooned back across to their ship when the last pirate looked back at them he threw back the food, water and valuables he had taken. The migrants stared at him in awe as he looked at them feeling sorry. Their ship caused a huge wave and the boat rocked side to side, water splashing everyone. The rocking of the boat made most of the migrants become violently ill, they thought they were dying. In fact, they were dying as the pirates had not only taken their food, water and valuables but had also brought a horrible plague to their small …show more content…
They were found in in a critical but stable condition. They have since been questioned by police and the Immigration minister. They have been granted Australian Citizenship and will now live with their Aunt and Uncle who had migrated early last year. Lorenzo (9) will have on going treatment for his collapsed lung and Asthma.

Five years earlier Caterina and Lorenzo migrated illegally to Australia. During their time in Australia they have since found that their parents had been killed in a house fire in 1955. Caterina and Lorenzo have been grieving for their parents. During this time Lorenzo was diagnosed with lung disease in 1960. He has since lost his battle.
