In Animal Farm, George Orwell, based his story on the Russian Revolution in 1917 which eventually lead to the Soviet Union. He later on published his book in England on August 1945. The animals in the story represented the people during the Soviet Union. He wanted to elucidate the things that happened during that time by revealing the truth of the Soviet Union and letting the readers know what really occurred. Many of those people who were part of the government abused the power of it, which Orwell didn’t defy in letting the people know the reality. He eventually didn’t listen to him and with the help of the other animals they started to create the windmill. This relates to Stalin’s Five Year Plan of agriculture. Napoleon never liked the idea of building the windmill since he thinks it’s a waste of time and everyone is going to starve to death. Many similar events that occurred in the Revolution, Orwell tried signifying them in a similar way in the story. They all had some difficulties in the beginning because they were like slaves that did not rest at all, but they were all looking forward in having it done. Napoleon didn't like the idea of the windmill since Snowball was taking in control and he wanted to be the only one with all the potential there. So he decided to kick him out without any purpose to. Napoleon relates to Stalin when he takes over Russia after Lenin dies. When Snowball left that was a great advantage for him since he would be the one to rule the farm. When someone wanted to oppose Stalin he would get rid of them or most likely kill them. In the story Napoleon used dogs to protect and do things for himself.
