Napoleon- the leader had made it clear that everyone who wants to live on the land must constantly work. At first the work was at a decent speed and work ethic, but the work began to pick up and the work that the animals were put to was cruel and hard labor. However, there were other things then just the work. Sacrifices had to be made because there was a food shortage. The hens had to give up there eggs and if they refused they would not be fed. Due to this, 9 hens had died. The hens and others labeled this, as murder but Napoleon did not see it this way. He saw it as a way of trying to help the other animals and some had to die on the way to get exactly what they need. From this, Napoleon never thought the animals would speak up on his actions
