Their relationship is that they are friends and they are nice to each other. George takes care of Lennie so that he won't get in trouble. Evidence that supports that is in paragraph 20 where it says "Well, look. Lennie- if you jus' happen to get in trouble like you always done before, I want you to come right here an' hide in the brush". He also makes sure Lennie doesn't say anything to the boss so he won't get in trouble.…

John Steinbeck 's Of Mice and Men In the novel, Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck establishes an evident contrast between the individual men who work on the ranch and lead solitary lives, and the two main characters, George and Lennie, who function as a family unit and share a common dream. Steinbeck effectively develops the theme of loneliness and alienation through the use of other characters as representations of minorities. The theme is used as motivation for many of the character’s actions. This leads up to the novels ironic resolution that may be viewed as a suggestion of Steinbeck’s philosophy about life and living.…

All great novels have conflicts in them; John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men is no exception to this. Steinbeck’s main character, George, faces many different problems throughout the story. Some of George’s conflicts are internal, while others are external. Although George faces many struggles he always seems to be able to think of a solution. George’s struggles, whether internal or external, are problems none of us would ever imagine.…

Of Mice and Men essay I think that George and Lennie from Of Mice and Men have a better relationship than Romeo and Juliet because George protected Lennie on multiple occasions, George was able to find him and Lennie a job when it was hard to find open jobs, and George only killed Lennie because it was the most humane choice he had. My first reason is because George was able to find both of them a job, even though it was very hard to find a job and Lennie was mentally disabled. This is shown when George successfully gets them a job at the ranch even after being chased out of Weed after Lennie grabbed the girl's dress. That would have made finding a job difficult, however George was still able to get them a job even though he had to lie a bit. On pages 21 and 22, we see this when the boss asks about Lennie not being much of a talker.…

Even though Lennie acts like a child, George still needs him even though he may not know it . George would feel as if he had let Lennie’s Aunt Clara down by not protecting Lennie. Also, George has never left Lennie’s side, no matter how much trouble he’s gotten in. For instance, when Lennie got in trouble in Weed, George didn’t have to come, but he willingly did. At the end of the book when Lennie had left the ranch for accidentaly killing Curley’s wife, George had found Lennie right in the spot he was told to go.…

After the death of Lennie’s aunt Clara, George knew that he would have to take on the responsibility of taking care of Lennie. This part of the book also is what made me think that George is more of a father to Lennie than he is a friend. I think this because George does not always talk to and treat Lennie like a friend should to another friend. “I was jus’ fooling Lennie. Cause I want you to stay with me.”…

In the novella, Of Mice and Men I believe that George was a good friend to Lennie. Friendship is when you are by someone's side, through thick and thin. George and Lennie were good examples of friendship because they were always by each others side, even though they may not have gotten along at times. Unfortunately, Lennie isn't so bright, so George has taken on the role of not only being his companion but his caretaker as well. In the novella George and Lennie have gotten into trouble a number of times, but this one time may or may not have depicted whether he was a good friend or not.…
