George and Lennie have many tactical benefits they bring upon each other, but it's perfect as they look out for each other beyond self gratification. George and Lennie are willing to make sacrifices for each other. Although Lennie aspires for his desires, he also looks beyond himself for George’s sake. When they were eating together, George couldn’t provide ketchup for Lennie however, if he did, Lennie “wouldn’t eat none … [and] leave it all for [George]” in order for George to eat well (Steinbeck 12).
