My hypothesis stated that the water width and channel width would increase as river goes downstream. At Site 1the river width was 2.5 meters, whereas at Site 2was 3 meters and site 3 was 4 meters.
the wetted perimeter at the first site was quiet low this is the fact that this was where the river started and was formed so you do not expect to see any water, at site 2 the wetted perimeter doubles roughly and at site 3 just a little bit higher, this is due to the water collecting at the bottom and forming the river Loughton brook which ends into the river Thames
the water depth at site 1 was less than a meter high and in site 2 the water depth was less than the water depth in site one, this is possible because of the rainfall not falling on the ground as there was a lot of trees in that area so vertical erosion did not happen as it’s supposed to be because my hypothesis states that the river Loughton brook gets deeper and wider due to vertical and lateral erosion, at sight 3 this is seen because the depth of the water is 0.79 which is deeper than the rest which proves my hypothesis is right and there are certain factors
