Guinea has a relatively tropical climate. The temperatures range from the seventies to the hundreds during the day, and forties to fifties at night. However, the placement within these temperatures is determined based on the dry and wet seasons. Near the cost, the temperatures tend to be lower and more rainfall occurs annually. In the northern parts of Guinea, it is drier and slightly hotter due to the Sahara winds.
Guinea is also rich in mineral deposits. These deposits include bauxite, alumina, gold, diamonds, and iron ore. The natural occurring gems and minerals play a big part in Guinea economy and way of life. Guinea is the home to the sources of many rivers.
