History
Georgia was founded by James Edward Oglethorpe in 1733. In 1742 Oglethorpe defeated the Spanish at the battle of bloody marsh. It took place on St. Simmons Island. In 1758 Oglethorpe sailed to England and never came back also in 1758 Georgia was separated into eight parishes. In 1765 they added four new parishes, In 1776 Georgia gained independence from England. In 1783 the new capital was Augusta. Now the capital is Atlanta.
