Geo Process Results

Geo-Process’s Results Billions of years ago, the earth was not made up of seven continents, as it is today. It was one big landmass called Pangea. Meaning all land. Pangea went under a process called continental drift, founder by Alfred Wegener, which is caused by geo-process. Geo-process results in changes to the earth's surface because of tectonic plates causing mountain building, earthquakes, and volcanos. First off, convergent plates cause many different types of mountains, like the folded mountains. Their called a folded mountain because of the folding plates. The denser plate goes underneath, which will eventually turn into molten, while the lighter one goes on top. This supports the thesis statement because of the two plates causing mountain building. In summarization to folded mountains, their building process happens because of convergent plates. “Folded mountains occur when two plates push together,” (Discovery Education 1). This shows relation to geo-process because of the constant changing surface, causing mountain building. A fascinating thing about tectonic plates is that they cause a variety type of volcanos. Some even form islands and land. This relates to the thesis because land and islands are a part of what form the earth's structure. For example, adding a hole in your house would dramatically be changing its structure.
