We will notice the same method used but for two different movies. At the beginning of Pinky the cops settles a disagreement that occurs between Patricia (the light skin woman) and the guy she is collecting money from. We have a medium shots during the interactions at first then we move to a wide-angle right before it is revealed that Patricia is black. We are able to capture the reaction of the people in the back as this is revealed and wee notice how these officers treat her different. In Gentleman’s Agreement there is a scene when the reporter is denied a room in the hotel because he is a Jew. During the scene we deal with close-ups and medium close-up until the reporter confronts the discrimination.
