King Philips War was the last Native American attempt to push off the invading whites from America. Their efforts were left in vain; however, it did inflate the most destruction on a white population in American history. The Native Americans problems and reasons for getting rid of the colonists were based from the lack of land, since more settlers kept pouring into their region, and competition for resources needed for survival. Nevertheless, the biggest problem, and what I believe became the ultimate reason for the war, was the Puritans earnest attempt to convert Native Americans into Christianity. New England established 14 praying towns where Native Americans could live, but under certain stipulations, they had to become essentially English.…
Other colonies and tribes soon joined the fight and it became all out war. Victory was won after the colonies joined forces with Native American allies. Eventually, Metacom was hunted down and slain by a Christian Indian and the war was over. The brutality of the conflict created an underlying fear of retributive attacks that would last for decades. A shared sense…
Many books have been made into movies, and people tend to notice that the movies do not highlight certain details that the books do. In A Separate Peace, there were many differences between the book in the movie, like Gene’s visit to Devon, the character relationships, and the different perspective of the movie. Gene’s visit to Devon 15 years later is the first scene of the book. The movie started at the start of his summer session. Missing this scene of the book made it lose the feeling that Gene forgave himself for Finny’s death.…

The War of 1812 can be said to be the second war for independence since the Americans were fighting to establish their independent nature and state against the British. The British had previously not recognized the Americans independence, which set Americans on a quest to establish that they were an independent nation that had its own laws and one that could not be influenced or ruled by other nations. This second war of independence helped them establish their independence and sovereignty against the British as well as against any other nation that may have doubted their sovereign nature. Several grievances were similar in both wars. The first was that the Americans wanted their independence from the British as well as being recognized as an independent nation.…
The tale of a war is told by the victor, but what happens when there is no winner, and the story is told by two different nations. When the war of 1812 was fought, no country had a definite winner. Both America and Britain/Canada were able to tell the tale, but what were the differences between the two? The tale of the War of 1812 told by America focuses around America view, and often doesn’t mention other nations strifes and wars at the time, as well as skips mostly over the battles they lost.…

He quickly united his tribe, and some of the chieftains who respected his father, and rescued his wife, destroying the Merkit tribe. He used this momentum to destroy two other tribes, and undertake some power. It was not long before some of his uncles rebelled against him, and there were battles over who should control his new army.…

The two time periods of service that I will be analyzing are World War II and the Korean War. World War II lasted from September 1, 1939-September 2, 1945. The Korean War lasted from June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953. WWII and The Korean War were both similar because the United States involved itself in both wars. Also, during both wars at some point the United States was fighting against communism.…
Skilled workers were more important to industry and some could secure safe assignments at home. Unskilled young males and junior officers paid with their lives the most. The generation conflict was also widened by the war as Veterens' disillusionment fed off of anger towards the older generation for sending them to the trenches.

Governments took on many new powers in order to fight the total war. War governments fought opposition by increasing police power. Authoritatian regimes like tsarist Russia had always depended on the threat of force, but now even parliamentary governments felt the necessity to expand police powers and control public opinion.…

The country continued to shatter as daimyo (Military Rulers) fought each other day after day for territory. Then three people set out to restore Japan to its once peaceful society.…
