Genogram In My Family

A genogram is usually used in psychology as a way to plan out relationships within a family. It explains the interactions between one another. Creating a genogram was interesting as well as surprising. I would have never discovered things about my family and how and why conflicts have developed. I have noticed one thing when my mother was explaining the relationships and it due to disagreements between family members. Those disagreements are using because of the strong personalities that exist in my family, especially my mother, who happens to have the most conflicts with her in-laws. By making this genogram, I was aware of the traits my family members have and share in common as well as learn more about my mother, as she never opens up to anyone. To complete this project, as I have mentioned in the above paragraph, I personally interviewed my mother, which means the experimenter, which is me, asked the participant, which is my mother, questions, one-on-one. She is the second oldest of four and, therefore, responsible, on-top-of-things, and controlling. As they grew up, chores were split among the three sisters.
