Imagine how many people, could have been saved only if the international community had responded sooner to the crisis and stopped it. This convention will play a key role in prevent such a delay of action from ever happening again. In fact, with the support of the U.S the response time of the Genocide Convention would just a few days. With a response of this magnitude, it would successfully stop any future genocides from reaching the kill counts of Rwanda or Nazi Germany.
There are also a few concerns that need to be addressed. First, and the most obvious is the cost of such a project. The cost would be very minimal, as with so many countries being apart of it, very few countries would ever dare to commit genocide in fear of the economic and military repercussions, so there Genocide Convention would very rarely ever need enter a country.
