The characters in this story are Genghis Khan and his hawk. Khan, who was a hulking mass of muscle, was a proficient battle strategist. His loyal hawk, which was intelligent, agile, and had sharp eyes, helped him hunt. This story happens around 1200 A.D. in a Mongolian forest.
Khan got very thirsty because he had been in the sun for an extensive amount of time. He found a spring and took water from it with his cup. As soon as he lifted the cup and was about to drink from it, his hawk swooped down and whacked the cup out of his hand. At this point, Khan was perturbed.
