Genetically Modified Organisms Are Bad

Walking down the aisles in the supermarket and picking up family favorites, examining the ingredients, you will find genetically modified substances. We ignore these ingredients and allow them to be constantly ingested in our bodies, thinking nothing will happen. While genetically modified organisms have their benefits, there are still associated with negative effects such as cancer, dangerous chemicals, and DNA problems. The traditional process for growing food is extremely valuable in this decade that we have to pay more for organic and healthy foods. It costs the consumer more to purchase foods the way they are supposed to be grown and fed to the world. Our children go to school to be exposed to sodas and unhealthy foods. Even though Michelle Obama, tried to provide our kids with healthier and nutritious meals, her meal plan vanished because of the higher profits earned from horrible foods. Many people don’t care about their health an make reckless decisions, not being aware of the consequences in the future. Ignoring these consequences cause us to be oblivious to why we are sick, why we have hormonal problems, and why we are having children with birth defects. Although, genetic engineering may lead to genetic effects and limit genetic diversity, it can help us lead longer lives and tackles diseases. Genetic engineering may have some benefits to our life but the costs may exceed the benefits when we think about the risks that comes along with
