GMOs, a Way to Solve World Hunger According to the World Population clock by the United States Census Bureau, there are now 7.2 billion people in the world and the population continues to increase (Thompson). Of those 7.2 billion people, 845 million men, women, and children do not have the nutrition to live a healthy life. That is 1 out of every 9 people on earth (Cousin). GMOs stand for Genetically Modified Organisms, and they are the answer to this absurdity. GMOs will not only provide a surplus of food to the most hostile corners of the planet, but will also serve as a cheaper alternative to other foods, increase nutrition, and can have less of an impact on the environment.

7.2 billion People in the world and the population continues to increase (Thompson). Of those 7.2 billion people, 845 million men, women, and children do not have the nutrition to live a healthy life. That is 1 out of every 9 people on earth that is starving (Cousin). That one person that is starving could be a mother or father that is living in a third world country who is thinking about when their next meal for their child is going to be. *pause* Genetically Modified Organisms will stop a mother from worrying about if she will ever live to celebrate her son’s next birthday or whether a father will ever see his daughter’s first footsteps. There are 845 million people that need food. This is not a matter of growing the purest, and sweetest fruits, but providing the nutrition to the millions of people…
