Imagine this, you are about to become a big brother/sister, and you are anxiously waiting for the doctor to come out and tell you it is time to meet your little brother/sister. You are feeling overwhelmed with excitement and nervousness. Finally, you walk into the hospital room, and you hear your mom and dad crying. You realize you don’t see the baby anywhere around the room. You ask what is wrong, and they tell you that after the baby was born, it died shortly after from a disease that could have been curable a couple of days ago, but it was too late now. Genetic testing is when a pregnant woman takes a blood test and sees if their child might have a disease or type of cancer. Genetic testing is important because if a child has disease, parents can be ready and prepared for the disease their child might have. Parents might also be able to save their child's life by using genetic testing because the disease that might be causing them to die could be caught early. On one side of …show more content…
However, it is extremely important for parents to conduct prenatal genetic testing because genetic testing finds out why woman have repeated miscarriages, it can find out if their child has a disease, and it can prevent diseases in the mother.

The first reason it is extremely important for parents to conduct genetic testing is, it can find out why women have repeated miscarriages. Critics often argue that women could have repeated miscarriages for no reason and doctors might not find anything. However, if a woman is having miscarriages for no reason, doctors could still recommend something, or they could still find something wrong in the body.
