The first example can be located at www.cancerresearchchuk,org. The website states, “Only fifty percent of people with cancer survive.” That is a very slim chance if you were to get you children genetically test and find something out like that would you want your kids to live their life knowing that. The next example is located in the article “ Genetic Testing for Kids: Is It a Good Idea?” The article states the claim, “As the AAP stated in a summary of the journal article, it advises against testing kids for adult-onset conditions “ when this information has not been shown to reduce mortality through interventions initiated in childhood.” This example shows a great amount of mortality meaning close to death and your kids would have to live with the fact that they will have a disease when they are older if they get a positive diagnoses. The final example for this reason can be found in the article “ Why We Should Think Twice About Giving Genetic Tests to Our Kids.” The article states, “ But should these children really spend their childhood knowing they have a ninety percent chance of contracting breast cancer when they’re older.” Why should a child have to go through their entire life knowing the fact they have a high risk of cancer when they are older.
