For this paper, I will complete a genetic/genomic nursing assessment. This will consist of three generations from a family. I will obtain a brief health history of each family member, as well as a reproductive history for any relevant family members. I will also, include ethnic backgrounds of each family member and identify any growth and development of each family member. After gathering this information, I will explain how each family member understands the causes of their health problems. They are all aware of the medical history throughout their family and are all trying to make better lifestyle choices to prevent any future health issues. The second generation of this family does not smoke, they grew up around their parents smoking, but all have made a healthier choice in regards to smoking. The second generation, also are teaching their children the importance of eating healthy and exercising. It is difficult with this younger generation, whom tend to live a sedentary lifestyle, to teach them to be active, when this generation is all about social media and video games.
