In the beginning this is where Genesis leads us to the establishment of the world. Genesis lays the foundation for the bible, human kind, and the nation of Israel. The introductory text gives an understanding on how the world should be perceived. The living word of God uncovers the character of God, the fall of man, meaning of marriage, and cultivation of mankind. There is a God, and there is none like him. Genesis chapter one gives proof that Yahweh is not apart of nature, but he is the creator of all living being and things in the world. “And God said let there be” this is all over the first chapter informing us that Yahweh is in control of all things, and only he can control all things which makes him master over the world of nature. He said to himself “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Genesis 1:26 ESV). God did not make mankind the same way he did the other living creature. We can see that when God made man he took his time. God spoke the creature and animals into existence, but he formed man from the dust of the ground, and breather into his nostril the breathe of life (Genesis 2:7 ESV). God saw that his creation was good, and that man was supposed to reflect the living God in the earth. In his image I often question what does it man to be in Gods image. God gave us the authority to rule, “Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth” (Genesis 1:26 ESV). Both human and animals made of the dust of the ground mankind hand a special place in the eyes of God. He gave us his image and dominion over his creation Adam was place in the midst of the garden to rule the land in which God created. Marriage from the bible is defined between and male and a female. God gave Adam a wife because of the look of loneliness upon his face he did not just give him a women for his pleasure, but a helper. Eve was designed to help man in rising up a generation that would create image bearers. From a biblical worldview man is solely responsible for raising his children and the mother is the helper. In our generation today man has become the helper and mom has been held responsible for cultivating. Just as man relationship with God has become imperfect so has his relationship with his suppose has become imperfect also. J’annine Jobling stated in her book Falling in love again: interpreting transgression and transgressive interpretations of Genesis 2-3 “ And as the New Testament would have it, women should refrain from teaching, from authority over men, and remain silent”.
