Genesis 3:1-24 At the end of the chapter two, we leave off with God placing Adam and Eve into the Garden of Eden, instructing them to take care of the garden, but warning them not to eat from the tree of knowledge, or else death will be bestowed upon you. This is where chapter three picks up. In the beginning of the chapter, A serpent appears to the women. The serpent is said to be smarter than any other wild animal. He appears to Eve and tries to test her knowledge of the Lord and what he has asked of her. He asks if it is true that she was told that they must not eat off a certain tree, and if death was truly promised if they did so. To these questions she responds yes, but the serpent insisted that it was not
