The nature of the fallen world is one of the conflict, difficulty, and hopelessness and that genuine hope is found only in the lord. If we try to use Genesis 1-3 as a modern science or as a book, we would be misunderstanding the nature and the function of the Scripture. Moving on, the nature of God responds to any kind act, with mercy and grace and not with the full weight of justice. In the Christian worldview, it would mean that it is to remind us of our nature, and that we are human beings, and will always sin. And that we aren’t perfect and because of this, we need to desperately repent, also that this is to show the mercy and benevolence of God. I believe that there is a flaw in the Christian creation story? “Light happened on day

“The general purpose of Genesis 12-50 is to carry forward God’s promise despite all obstacles” (Boadt 112). I think this can be really adaptable throughout all times in history because there will always be obstacles and struggles that we face, it is a part of being a human. Abraham showed us that it is possible to carry out God’s promise even though at some points it might be difficult. I think following through with a promise despite obstacles may be one of the reasons Abraham was so admired, and ended up being the father of faith of three major religions. “Abraham could leave the land of his fathers to become a stranger in the land of promise. ……

One way that it is important to recognize that my worldview influences my desires is that if my worldview is flawed, I may commit illicit acts while believing that my actions are justifiable. For instance, if my worldview includes an appreciation for polygamy, if I were to practice polygamy, I would believe that the practice is appropriate. Conversely, if I held a biblical worldview, specifically that man is to exclusively have one wife, I would strive to solely practice monogamy and reject polygamy. Furthermore, a biblical worldview will influence my desires to increasingly love God, while increasingly hating sin.…

our bodily representation of God. The fall begins as we begin to reject our created responsibility to represent the Lord and we begin this responsibility onto idols. We then deny our calling to live and we begin to cultivate the earth in disobedience. Either we image God in our loving rule of the earth, or we forfeit that task in disobedience. For disobedience goes against the very grain of creation itself, that sin is rebellion against the creator and the creator of reality.…

The promise was that there would be a chosen generation birthed through Abraham. The Abrahamic covenant is the beginning of re-establishing God’s plan to redeem mankind back into a relationship with Him. In Genesis 12, God assured Abraham that he will be blessed, and have family beyond counting, and that nations will be blessed through him. “No wonder Paul speaks of the promise to Abraham and to his seed that he would be the inheritor of the world (Rom. 4:13). He would inherit more than the land of Canaan; he would inherit the world.”…

Being Orthodox Christian teaches me that both Abraham and Moses are equally important and I cannot say that I favor one over the other. However, if I had the chance to meet only one of them I would probably choose Moses. The reason for this lies mainly in the fact that his life was one of extremes, in a way similar to the one of the founder of Buddhism Siddhartha Gautama. From being “sentenced” to death as a baby to being raised as a royalty and receiving the best education and life possible at the time, to afterwards escaping Egypt and living a simple life very different and distant from the one of a royalty. Yet another reason for my choice would be the fact that when God chose Moses and told him to go back to Egypt and save his people from…

What would you do if God appeared to you and randomly asked you to be his servant and to complete the impossible? Most of us would probably fail out of pure disbelief or lack of faith. God did so to both Moses and Noah. The Lord spoke to and influenced Moses and Noah, which changed how they saw themselves as individuals and how they contributed to their society. This was expressed in the Bible, and has been retold numerous times, most recently in movies such as The Ten Commandments, Prince of Egypt, Noah and Exodus: Gods and Kings.…

Crystal Avina Books of Moses Professor Christine Vetne February 17, 2017 Exodus The Book of Exodus, similar to the book of Genesis, presents claims that suggest the author is Moses. Events which support such claims of Mosaic authorship include Moses writing down the Ten Commandments, recording Israel’s victory over Amalek, and noting the covenant. The book of Exodus is believed to span over roughly 80-81 years from 1526 B.C, to about 1445 B.C. The book is commonly divided into two main parts: story-told history and laws.…
