General Zaroff Character Analysis

Decent Essays
My favorite story was “the Most Dangerous Game” out of the three. This was my favorite because it never got boring it always kept you on the edge of your seat wanting to read more. The book made you question what will happen next, whos might die, is anyone safe. My Favorite character was General Zaroff not because of what he did or said , but how he acted. He never was the same his personality was hard to read sometimes . Not that I agree with the whole killing people thing , but I thought his personality is very instersting and mysterious. On the other hand, Rainsford was a hunter who hunted only animals. When he washed up on the Island he didn’t know he was in for an awakening. Rainsford had a very laid back and chill personality until

Another unique aspect of Maus is how the author portrays himself in the book, he draws himself as a mouse so you can automatically assume that he identifies himself as a Jew. Spiegelman is an impatient man with a hectic life. He wants to pass on his father’s story, but feels guilty about it. “Somehow my arguments with my father have lost a little of their urgency…, and Auschwitz seems too scary to think about…so I just LIE there.” Spiegelman was so blinded by gathering information for his book that he did not care what his father would say to him or even of his concerns or problems.…

Sanger Rainsford is a protagonist character that has many character traits that characterizes him. Some of these traits are: quick-witted, wise, experienced and opinionated. Rainsford is a quick-witted person because when he fell overboard he swam toward the gunshots instead of panicking. Rainsford also made distance between Zaroff and himself at the beginning of the hunt. He sat traps to catch the enemy and his alliances.…

Language features in once. In the novel once Morris Gleitzman portrays Felix as a caring character because he cares for Zelda his new friend and the orphans by telling them stories from his imagination. On page 66 Morris Gleitzman writes about how Felix was caring towards Zelda “Once I spent about six hours telling stories to Zelda, to keep her spirits up-” clearly Morris is telling us that Felix obviously cares about her and doesn’t want Zelda to feel down in the dumps. Keep in mind that Zelda does not know her parents are no longer alive but Felix does, so trying to save Zelda from the heartache is also another example of how caring Felix is.…

Rainsford is a man of logic and reason. His clever actions and resourcefulness while Zaroff’s guest on Ship-Trap island prove my argument. Rainsford is a hunter and a rather talented and well known one to say the least. He has outsmarted his prey time and time again, and he has separated himself from most mediocre hunters that are competing with him for recognition. Furthermore, Whitney tells Rainsford that he’s seen him hit a moose in the dark four-hundred yards away.…

Rainsford is able to survive because he has a lot of good idiosyncrasy which in turn helps him survive in the story “The Most Dangerous Game.” He was a very intelligent man. He showed a lot of courage in this story . “The revolver pointed as ridgeley as if he was a statue” (p.43 Conell). This shows a lot of courage because he had a gun pointed right at his chest and he just stood there like nothing was happening.…

As a rule, what surrounds a character in a book, either a different culture, or geography, tends to change their moral principles. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, is a perfect example of how even though someone has everything they need, they can end up doing insane things. Mccandless, the main character, is affected by extreme environmental surroundings, because his thinking shifts from being brave to feeling morally guilty . Cristopher, used to have all he wished, but because of his solipsistic personality, this wasn't enough.…

Instead of making himself an easy target, he actually makes hunting him fairly difficult. He does this by straying from the path and looping around the jungle on the same path. Being alone/hunted changes a man in more ways than one thought. My next detail is that Rainsford loses his sense of humor. Instead of being a joking guy like…

Fromm would recognize that Zelig ended his abnormal behavior when Dr. Fletcher surpassed the trends of society to understand the source of Zelig’s fear of isolation. Once Dr. Fletcher supported Zelig and decided to be the one to cure him, she succeeded in “transcend[ing] the thought patterns of [her] society” (Fromm). Dr. Fletcher transcended society when she diagnosed Zelig differently from the other doctors. She was ridiculed simply because she was a woman, but she stood by her thoughts. This action suspended her out of society, just like Zelig.…
