The entertainment business is making millions of dollars basing characters on generalized stereotypes. The stereotypical cheerleader, I was not but when I heard the rumble of the crowd and felt the team spirit I knew I wanted to be a part of it all. After taking some time to look beyond the surface I realized that cheerleading was not all about the tight uniforms and shiny pompoms. Cheer is a sport that requires teamwork, trust, dedication, commitment, and optimism.
