General Motors Company was founded in Flint, Michigan in the year 1919. It was a normal city and it thrived. The city relied on the auto industry so much and when the factories started closing in 1985, everything started going downhill. Many of the citizens of Flint were laid off from their jobs in the factory. Eventually, people started getting evicted from their homes and doing strange things to get money. In, Roger and Me, there were people selling their plasma to get a little extra cash and there was a woman who sold bunnies “for pets or for meat”.
