On February 19th, 1942 President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Executive Order of 9066 after the bombing at Pearl Harbor. This order gave the secretary of war the ability to deem certain areas as war zones or military areas, specifically the west coast, allowing them to exclude certain peoples, such examples of those excluded were among the Japanese, Italians, and Germans. General John DeWitt would have the entire west coast designated as a war zone. Curfews would be established, and the Japanese would not be allowed to leave the area, and later not be allowed to stay in the area.
