In the Rwandan Genocide of 1994, Cansilde Munganyinka’s entire village was looted and she lost absolutely everything. Years later, Dominique Ndahimana, one of the men who had destroyed her town, returned to ask for her forgiveness. She accepted, but explained to him that she had no home or water for her children. The next day, he returned with the group of over fifty men who had looted and destroyed her village to build her a home. She now remarks, “Ever since then, I have started to feel better.
