Gene-Environment Correlation

According to the book the concept of gene-environment correlation is, “our genes influence the environments to which we are exposed” (Berk 55). The book breaks it down into what is experienced in earlier and older ages. At the time of early ages, two types of gene-environment correlation types exist, passive and evocative correlation. At older ages, active correlation is dominant as the child has more freedom. I will now apply this concept to the scenario given. At the age of 4, Bianca is undergoing the first type of gene-environment correlation which is passive. The passive type is defined as, “the child has no control of it.” Being that she is very young, her parents control what type of environment she will be in. Her parents wanted to facilitate
