The preindustrial revolution era was very much different what it proved to be after the industrial revolution. The set up of families was made around kinship network as each member of the family was involved in the process of earning the basic needs of life such as food, shelter & clothes etc. The kinship network was consisted between the people having blood relationships or marriage relationships. The network seemed to get weak with the passage of time especially after the industrial revolution. The roles were changed for both men and women in this regard. Now the roles were changed for genders after the industrial revolution. The women were raising their children at home and men were out to work as a labor. The change tied to kinship network in a way that people has to assign different roles based on their gender. The families were mobilizing to find more labor and in this process, they were weakening the system of nuclear families. So, the kinship networks changed as people started to move to other areas in search of labor. Earlier, a kinship network was build amongst them through blood relation or residing in same area. But now men were going out to work and earn wages, and women are managing their homes.
