Feminist theory is a major branch of theory within sociology that is distinctive for how its creators shift their analytic lens, assumptions and topical focus away from the male viewpoint and experience. The key areas of focus within feminist theory include discrimination and exclusion on the basis of sex and gender, objectification, structural and economic inequality, power and oppression, and gender roles and stereotypes, among others (Crossman, 2017).
Feminist theory try to address the concerned about women and why they are marginalized in society. Women not standing on the same footing with men in job market and denial of women to fully participate in public life. Feminist advocate for justice and equality and are against any form of oppression, inequality and injustice.
Critical theoretical perspective.
They focus on the exploitation in gender inequality. When sociologist examine gender from this perspective, they view men as the dominant group and women as the subordinate group.
