In the episode “Battle of the Sexists”, Donna beats her boyfriend Eric in a game of basketball and other male dominant things. This created controversy because women were not supposed to be able to do the things that Donna did. Donna has a feminist personality and believes that men and women should be able to have equal roles in society and this view was not common therefore it wasn’t considered a stereotype. Donna also dresses manly and doesn’t wear makeup which really emphasizes her feminist personality. I believe the writers made Donna the way she was to show that not every women in the 70s was destined to fit some sort of gender stereotype. Society has evolved into accepting feminist values and Donna’s character is an example of how women are capable of doing things that men can and it is depicted well throughout the
