Whether that is fair or not is uncertain. What does hold true is these stereotypes are often just that, stereotypes. These do not apply to the majority. All three of these characters play different roles, are from different periods of time, and have very big fan bases. Thus, they have a huge influence on the everyday lives of their viewers. They all do have gender stereotypes surrounding them, some may not fall into one stereotype but will fall into another. These are three actresses who fit perfectly in the role they play, all along directly classifying as todays common stereotype for women. We must acknowledge the unique gender stereotypes of each actress individually. Sometimes these characters do break stereo types. While going through the list of trailers the first stereotypical depiction was that of the villain in Babes in Toyland, Silas Barnaby played by Henry Kleinbach. He is very scruffy looking and appears to be stereotypical Jewish person, with a large nose, unkempt hair and beard. His all black suit and hat only adds to his menacing qualities. We even see him getting hit with a piece of wood as he walks away with a cane. The next stereotype I noticed was in Li’l Abner throughout the trailer, that women are head-over-heals for a man, even though he does not reciprocate.…

One of society’s oldest and most complex dichotomies is that of men versus women. But the fact that “versus” is even part of the dialogue on this subject shows the ways in which our culture has denigrated the natural and normal developmental differences between males and females. However, many of the differences are also socially constructed and perpetuated through rituals and stereotypes passed along from generation to generation. The popular and comedic children’s show, “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”, exemplifies some of these stereotypes through an episode called “The Fairest of them All”, in which a beauty pageant is hosted by the hotel that Zack and Cody, two young male children, live in.…

Eli and the female continue to do some work as Eli later offers her to sit on her bed with him, and talk. They speak about multiple things, including Eli’s attempts to be nice to her and ease her into a kiss as she discretely rejects him “I stood and moved in close to her, asking if I might steal a kiss, but she claimed once again to be hurried” (p. 66), but most crucial being when the female finds out who Eli and his brother are, as she is surprised and intimidated by them.…

Stereotypes of people of color and minority races have been around for many years, and have proved themselves to dominate the perception of people of color in everyday life. Films portray people of color as they are perceived by white Americans, not how they truly are, unique. Stereotypes of Asians have been around for a long time, ever since Asians were introduced.
