1.In the movie we can see clearly the gender stereotypes that Iran had. In the scene that Betty goes to American Embassy finally the woman in embassy told to Betty that this is Iran once you get married the father of your child has the custody of her children. In our days women have this rights. In Iran even this right was taken. Also in the scene that while was Betty walking her husband relatives ran to her and hide her face because her kerchief wasn’t right and her face was shown more that is supposed to. A divorce in Iran means that the husband gets the custody of his kids. Women are forced to cover their hair and they shower only after sex. Besides, they eat on the floor with men and men are served first. In the movie Betty must obey her husband or suffer consequences. She really has no control over her life or her daughter. Important roles that exhibited in the movie and they are internationally accepted is the role of man. Man has to take care his family and his firsts priorities must be family and religion. Also another role that can be accepted internationally is that it is not bad for a woman to just stay at the house and take care the children, but without this meaning that the woman is going to be slave. Another internationally accepted idea is the protection of the children, but always without excesses. In Muslin Iran some important values that are showed and are unique to their culture is the role of man not as a supporter in the family but us a dominant part of the family.
