With the involvement of Disney princesses, it often brings along physical features into reality. Society likes to state that women are supposed to look elegant and proper this often means dresses, jewelry, hairstyles, etc. It creates an ideal woman, and this damages girl’s self-esteem(Orenstein 103). It always also creates the stress of the ideal behavior and look for girls making them feel like they must be perfect. The study in 2009 discovered that girls repeatedly said that sometime in their life they had to feel perfect (Orenstein 103). Another thing with clothing’s that it was often expected that girls wear certain clothing that would often be harder for them to move around in depending on activities (Renzetti and Curran 77). Personally, I would say I was never forced to wear certain clothing, and that I was just wearing clothes that were more appropriate for being outside. An example is that I normally wore jeans and a t-shirt were most girls around me did wear dresses or skirts. They weren’t really allowed to do certain activities because the clothes would get caught or their legs wouldn’t be able to go outwards as far as they could. I have though felt like I had to look good enough in public and act a certain way to be somewhat perfect. I still to this day have thoughts that I must be perfect and it tears me down. I push through it though because I know it is very unrealistic. The very idea of having to look a certain way is and going against it is nerve
