My father receives money every month from his retirement in U.S Navy. My worked when we lived in California, but has had only one job here in Indiana. She does not work now, but she does her part by cleaning the house, washing dishes, doing hers and my father’s laundry, feeding the dogs and other household jobs. My brother and I do help her out, and I always make sure she is not cleaning alone. In January of 2016, my father got open heart surgery. He had trouble recovering and stayed in the hospital for about 1 month and a half. Shortly after starting to become better, he had to get another surgery for his gallbladder in July. My father is not allowed to lift heavy objects or work his body hard, so my brother and I have to do or help with lots of the things that he used to do. But the stubborn person that he is, he still goes outside and tries to do things like yardwork. Before my father got surgery, he used to be the one who cut the grass and other doings that people consider the “man’s” job. My mother, on the other hand, is usually inside as I mentioned doing household jobs. She organizes the bills and financial things, she organizes schedules for appointments, and she organizes my father’s medicine. Even though my mother has not had a career like my father had, she still plays a big role in the house and our
