Society set gender roles for children as well. “Society teaches us that girls play with baking toys, dress up, barbies, and dance, where as boys play with tool-kits, balls, and play sports.”(Gardner 35) Society believes that if a girl plays with cars she’s a tomboy or will become a homosexual, the same if a boy plays with dolls. There is proven study that “Adult’s manipulation of normalcy may have devastating effects on children.”(Gardner 35) When parents don’t let children explore with different toys, both girl and boy toys it does not let them develop properly. This can lead to many confusions in later years.
