The overall main idea of this article was to discuss the treatment of women in professional sports. The main purpose of the source is to inform. As you read you begin to realize that the author wants you to do something about the way women are being treated in professional sports. A men's basketball team coach makes approximately $10 million per year, while the women's basketball team coach makes roughly $700,000. This right here is a representation on how gender inequality still exists today. Also in the article, there was an argument on whether or not women’s soccer should be played on turf. Men’s soccer isn’t played on turf so why should the women have too? This was a huge issue the author had and it made me realize that it isn’t just wage inequality for women there’s different areas as well.
It is not stated in which methods were used to get the data the author did but it seemed as though the author was pretty confident on the information that was discussed. Interviews may have been taken place. I say this because there was a lot of “he said, she said” in the article.
