Women's Role In Pride And Prejudice Analysis

Over the centuries, women’s duties or roles in the home and in the workforce has changed for the better. “ Pride and Prejudice” is based specifically in the early 19th century, where women did not have many options for their lives, and were often seen as an ideal. Not only was it an admirable story of lost and found love, with an eventual lighthearted ending, the author informed the audience how society was during the time. During this historical time period, women had limited roles. Roles in terms of abilities to interact socially with others. Jane Austen presents her arguments in a subtle way. The novel “ pride and prejudice” is simply about a journey toward love. However, there's is really much more to the novel. The story has a quite a lot to say about women during Regency England and their roles. The story displays a women's role through marriage, their rise in social status, and the role of being an accomplished lady. The novel mainly focuses around the Bennet family including Mr. and Mrs. Bennet and their five unmarried daughters, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia.
