To me the idea of a specific role for a gender is harmful for the children when they learn new things and develop more. By saying that this is the role of said gender you are sending a clear social signal to people who may not identify as that gender that while they may be able to do said thing , said thing is not their place , or they should not want to do it. Example the idea womyn identified peoples in STEM positions , while becoming more accepted , and more opportunities for said people , there is still a huge gender gap in these positions.
