My topic is GRS- Gender reassignment surgeries also known as SRS- Sex reassignment surgeries. Gender reassignment surgeries is a surgical procedure by which a transgender person’s physical appearance and function of their existing sexual characteristics are altered to resemble that of their identified gender.
People who pursue Gender reassignment surgery are usually referred to a transsexual.

Some surgeons will charge a higher rate for HIV and Hepatitis C patients while other medical professional assert that it is unethical to deny surgery or hormone treatments to transsexuals solely based of their HIV and hepatitis C status.
Gender reassignment surgeries can be difficult to obtain due to a combination of financial barriers and lack of providers. Currently there is an increase of surgeons that are in training to perform such procedures. Surgeons from California such as Dr. Marcie Bowers are commuting from extremities to teach surgeons in NYC.
