A TTR evaluates the total number of different words used, or types, and the total number of words, or tokens, in a language sample. A TTR evaluates each participant’s use of a diverse vocabulary in each narrative. However, descriptive analysis of this data was performed. The four atypically aging participant’s data was separated from the typically aging population and the means and standard deviations were calculated for both groups. The mean results and standard deviations of the typically and atypically aging groups are shown in table 3. The participants with either a cognitive impairment or nervous system disorder used more t-units and cohesive ties than the typically aging group. Also, the group of impaired individuals had a lower relevancy rating than the typical group and had more dysfluencies in their narrative samples. Due to the small sample size, the results of this analysis are preliminary and further research on this population is required to validate these
