Since 1923 many activist have been trying to pass the Equal Rights Amendment also referred as ERA, which states “Equality of right under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any States on account of sex.” This reflects to the issue of why gender gap pay remains installed. Statistics show that women make 78 cents for every dollar earned by a man. For those who are African American and Latino it is even less, 64 cents and 53 cents respectively.
