Dad’s expectations for their son is to play sports or race down the street with their bike with their friends. Not watching his son pretend cook or vacuuming the house. That is a women job. But it does not occur to the father that those could be his chores one day around the house. The phrase “Father like son” has a major impact on the dad. The reason why they want their son to be more manly is because they want their son to grow up and just be like them. The dad does not want to set himself up for a disappointment.
Society has an impact on parents who judges their own kids. It does not help the kid to become the person that their parents wants them to be. Dads are more likely to judge their own son compared to the mom. Moms are more likely to be more open hearted with her son’s decisions. The least parents can do for their kids is to accept them for who they are. Later on in life the parents shouldn’t be surprised that their son is gay. Forcing them to become who theyre not would not stop them from expressing their true feelings when they grow older. Love them for who they truly
