A 2005 report on Status of Women in Canada conducted an on-line consultation on gender equality: The data analyzed on the Status of Women Canada were obvious. In response to the question “if you agree that gender equality should be a higher priority for Canada”, 57.7% strongly agreed and 27.9 agreed, while only 8% strongly disagreed. Little wonder why the Justin Trudeau’s government is taking the lead in equity in the workplace by setting an example with his appointments. Data show that there could be improved support for women's in organizations and there should be improved equality in all areas outside workplaces. Women have also particularly improved from predominantly menial (nonstandard) jobs to more technical jobs. However, there are still obstacle that hold them back which may include wage gap, child care and sexual harassment. There are several theoretical paper and empirical data that shows that racial and ethnic diversity in the workplace is good for organizational competiveness especially in the present global economy. Notwithstanding, that racialized Canadian participation rate are higher than non-racialized Canadian, there is clear evidence to insinuate that many organization still need to be done to bring fairness and equality when it comes to promotions, remunerations and leadership roles in Canada’s workplace.
