First thing to focus is interview questions (Wallen,2015). Some organizations have very subjective HR processes. If during an interview there are questions about having a child or intend about having a child, which are, in turn, illegal, then that organizations is more likely have problems in equal treatment of employees. Another important issue to pay attention is pay inequity (Wallen,2015). If you are a manager, observe whether people with same qualifications who do the same job get paid equally or not. If answer is negative, manager should make efforts to resolve this problem. Last, but not least, see if organizations male and female employees climb equally high on ranks of management. If not, what is a reason? If no justifiable reason is found, as a manager, remove that glass ceiling since each person no matter to which gender they belong should have same opportunities. Managers’ task is to provide gender equity in workplace because any organization where discrimination exists are negatively affected.
