Gender discrimination in career is always a controversial issue in the society, and there are a significant number of females who have suffered from it in the past decades. Numerous policies are taken into practice to solve this problem. In light of these policies, as time goes by, gender discrimination in career has been improved in variety of posts. Regarding support for this claim, there this a strong support of this area: as time goes by, gender discrimination in career has been improved. Hellen (2016) pointed out in the past, some female broadcasters at the BBC are paid at a discount to male. However, with the females’ struggle and the protection of legislations, females are treated fairly and paid equally now (Hellen 2016). Furthermore, the average pay of women who have made it into the top echelons of the corporation is £198000, compared to £192000 for the men at this level (Hellen 2016). Another case is women are slowly joining the senior ranks of Wall Street firms (Antilla, 2016). According to its 2015 human resources report last year, women at Deutsche Bank represented 20.5% of the firm's directors and managing directors, up from 17.1% in 2011 (Antilla, 2016). From these statistics it is clear females has paid equally when compared to the male in same post, some even excess the males’, different from the past situation where the women did the same work as man but paid less. Cadwalladr (2016) pointed out in variety of posts like receptionists, females are required to wear high-heeled shoes during the work time which increase risk of suffering from back pain, degenerative joint disease etc. Cadwalladr (2016) also suggested even though women wear the high-heeled shoes, use variety of cosmetics in order to give customers a sense of respective, their salary still lower than the men who spend little time and money on such things. However, the definition of high-heeled shoes can be ambiguous, some professional companies stipulate women to wear high-heeled shoes from 2 inches to 4 inches which can make them confidence and look invigorative (Masters, 2016). This means Women have the right to choose different high-heeled shoes, and it is generally accepted 2 inches’ are not so harmful to women’s health.
