She hypothesized that brain function in opposing genders is correlated with each genders levels of cognitive ability. They also hypothesized that white matter volume and corpus callosum size would be correlated with the cognitive ability of mental rotation. Participants were given a mental rotation test. Participants first viewed a block figure and then viewed four more block figures and had to differentiate which two of the four were rotation variations of the first block figure. Participants were given thirty trials and had to complete all in three minutes. The participants’ scores demonstrated the number each had answered correctly. As assumed, the results showed that male’s outperformed females with the ratio of correct answers bring 24.5 to 16.6. Neural measure tests showed gender differences in gray matter volume (the rostrum, and the anterior midbody); however, no differences in white matter volume or corpus callosum length. They also concluded that the rostrum and the anterior midbody are correlated with mental rotation. In conclusion, the results of this study show that when looking for sex differences in the brain one has to control for cognitive ability. The study also shows that spatial processing ability accounts for gender differences in corpus callosum size; however, do not demonstrate the

In the article ‟ The Dark Side of Creativity: Original Thinkers Can Be More Dishonest” Francesca Gino tested whether creativity increased dishonesty. They hypothesis she tested was that a creative personality and mind encourage a person’s capability to explain their behavior, that leads to dishonourable behavior. Most people behave dishonestly due to their ability to cheat and also feel that they are behaving as honest individuals. The degree of originality allows people to easily behave dishonestly and it can be a handy role in understanding unethical behavior.…

Reflection essay #4 Our discussion about relationship between creativity and spatial reasoning reminds me of a study of “Mozart effect” (Rauscher et al. 1993), which showing that music by Mozart can temporary improves experimental subjects’ spatial reasoning ability comparing to the control group. Of course, the study is not promoting Mozart’s work. Some recent work shows that the music with seizure frequencies close to the working frequencies of brain can help with stimulating brain activity.…

Because of this, their minds are then used to only thinking inside the box, rather than outside of it. To prove this, scientists tested the creative minds of adults and children. In a case study, fifty adults and fifty kids were shown a set of droodles, which are simple drawings that have no meaning to them. The goal of the test was to find as many meanings to the droodles no matter how absurd they may be. One of the droodles had two thin rectangles with a red circle in between them.…

Prior to completing ENGL 2200, I had many misconceptions. I believed creativity to simply turn a new and innovative idea into reality and in order to be creative as well as imaginative you must act on the ideas you develop. I learned that creativity is so much more in addition to being the foundation for developing newer technology, literature, artwork, and so much more in life. I also believed imagination to be a personal thing and what stimulates thoughts for myself may not be the same thing that stimulates thoughts for others. I am the type of person who when faced with a problem that needs a solution, I generate ideas with fluency and flexibility.…

Many people say that females think very differently from males. Well, that turns out to be a true statement, because both genders have really different brains. “Male brains have more connections within hemispheres to optimize motor skills, whereas females brains are more connected between hemispheres to combine analytical and intuitive thinking” (Lewis par. 2). Also, their brains are composed of two different types of tissues the grey ones and the white ones.…
