Women’s basketball has a size of 28 ½ to 29 inches in circumference compared to the scale of the ball in men’s is 29 ½ and 30 inches. Proving that the women’s hand is smaller than the men but in this case women have the advantage, it is easier to throw the ball and have a better handle. There are females in the WNBA with the height similar to some males in the NBA and have better percentage in shooting as well.
On August 5, 2014, for the first time in the NBA, a female assistant coach was hired for the San Antonio Spurs called Becky Hammon. Later on, July 31st of 2015 the NBA announced that the Sacramento Kings also added Nancy Lieberman as a female assistant coach. They both demonstrated that they have the IQ in basketball to reach the NBA. This is a huge advantage for the female’s by making their introduction inside the NBA. Women participate in practice and pickup games against men and demonstrate their capabilities to dominate in the same game.
Women’s aren’t less than men when it comes to sports. Men argue that women should not be able to play any game. “When women and men play together, men find themselves at a distinct disadvantage.” (Wilde; Women in Men’s Sports-Should it be Allowed). A woman should be turned down because of their talent and not because of their gender. A team has a better chance of winning because of the best athlete and not because of the best male
