With it being graduation time the paper is full of articles about academics. On Tuesday May 24th , The Courier had an article entitled “Carey to hold graduation on Sunday and it stated that the co-valedictorians and the salutatorian were all three females. The same thing was evident in the article titled “Riverdale High School commencement Sunday” when it stated that all four of the valedictorians and the salutatorian were females. The school environment is now becoming an issue and the article “11 states sue over Obama’s school restroom directive” discusses it. It stated that school is supposed to be a safe environment for children and now is being used as a laboratory for an experiment by letting students use whichever restroom matches their gender identity. Most of the time, it is even thought that women need someone to take care of them. In an article by Laurie B. Gibson, she stated that the mother has automatic custody over her child unless the court rules differently. That means even the father of the child does not have equal rights. Personally, that just does not make sense. The child is equally the fathers and the mothers. He should get the same rights. Another article by Christopher Rugaber, talks about how more people are living with their parents instead of significant others. Oddly, the article talks specifically about women living with their parents. There is not anything said about men living with their parents. There are definitely some things to be looked at there when it comes to gender and
